Every ward should have a Lisa Wilke! She exudes wit and wisdom on every shift she’s on, bringing joy on even the toughest of shifts. If you were a fly on the wall, you’d see her checking on us all, making sure we’re fed and watered, being visible and taking patients if needs be. She role models the need to question and ask if unsure and is approachable to all seniority of nurse and doctor. She regularly shares her knowledge and ideas, and will always be there to help a more junior team member. And finally, her team texts asking for extra staff or hours should win awards- they always bring a smile. In essence, every student nurse should aspire to be like Lisa.
Lisa is a font of all knowledge who’s passion for her team and care provided to children and young people is unwavering.
She has a calming presence and leads the team with expertise.
She always seeks to ensure staff are supported as a nurse in charge and is an expert in this area.She is often the voice of reason / while also being a passionate advocate for patient and staff safety.
She leads by example clinically and still continues to seek out new learning opportunities for herself and our team.
Lisa has no idea how Important she is within the team and how she epitomises all the qualities required as an excellent nurse leader.
