Helen is a fantastic consultant. She is a fabulous doctor who is kind, and will always make sure a job is done, no matter how big or small. Helen is incredibly supportive of her colleagues, particularly trainees. She will go out of her way to ensure trainees are ok and help them in anyway she can, whether it is rota or work related or not. Helen also does an amazing job in her role as Child Death lead in Torbay for both the families involved and the staff, ensuring everyone is supported. She endeavours to make the hardest thing a family can go through as seamless and supported a journey as possible. Helen is a consultant who I would always chose to work with, thank you for everything you do!
Helen is one of the most supportive consultants I have ever worked with. She goes above and beyond to support and teach junior colleagues. Nothing is ever too much trouble. She has incredible communication skills with patients and their families and always takes the time with those who need it.
A fabulous Consultant who works tirelessly to make sure no stone goes unturned on her watch. Her attention to detail and the way she advocates for the children and their families is inspiring. Helen will be the last to leave if there are loose ends to tie up or something important she wants to oversee. Regardless of time she will stay until the t’s are crossed and the i’s dotted with her documentation precise, clear and everyone aware of a plan. It is clear to see the work Helen does with families that have experienced child death is second to none as her empathy and desire to make sure they are well supported, listened to and have a voice is inspiring. Helen has time and respect for all members of the team and will always stop for a chat and ask how you are, she is forever teaching the drs and sharing her knowledge too.
Helen is a credit to our paediatric team she is an advocate to patients of all ages. She is an excellant member of the team always takes time to support the nursing and medical team. Helen is so caring and compassionate and is a very special colleague who is a priveledge to work alongside.
