I could think more fitting of the award as she truly has dedicated her life to nursing. First and foremost Ruth always has her patients best interest at heart when delivering their care. This includes regularly staying late without mentioning it to not only ensure patients have had the best care but to also support staff taking over her care. This is done to help lessen their work load and has been done consistently for the 9 years I have known her. Ruth has always been a strong advocate for patients and will always challenge decisions on patients care if it is not in the best interest.
