The play team are the hidden heroes of the Child Health Team at RCHT. They are flexible, accessible and always seem to go above and beyond to help the child and family. It is no surprise that the staff member most important to the child and family is often their play team member.
The team is well integrated with the relevant departments and hours are organised to cover needs as effectively as possible. The team members exert a really positive influence on the procedure, and their calm expertise and willingness to advocate for the child if, for example a pause is needed (or indeed if they knew that pausing was not in child’s best interest) is highly valuable. They are highly child and family focused, but interested in the input of all the other team members, accepting and supportive of junior staff and act as great role models. “ |
