April is an excellent role model to the nursing team; her dedication and commitment to improving the care provided on the neonatal unit and more recently on the children’s ward is abundant. Her leadership skills are inspirational and I have personally learnt a lot from how she leads teams both on a day to day basis while also being able to look at the bigger picture. She’s such a calming and knowledgeable presence and her communication skills with parents and families are excellent.

April is an amazing nurse. She is so knowledgeable and so supportive of her team. She was made to be in a teaching role and is always more than willing to take the time to explain or demonstrate things. Her passion for teaching is exhibited in the knowledge and good practice of all the nurses that have undertaken the essential training she facilitates. She is calm in a crisis and a figure of reassurance on the unit. She is down to earth and very approachable and her knowledge, confidence and kindness inspires all those around her.
