Harriot Day

Nominated for Junior Nurse of the Year Award

Works at University Hospitals Plymouth

You are extremely kind, great at communicating with patients and parents, and always on the ball!

As a newly qualified nurse Harriot has recently joined the CAU team. CAU is a baptisim of fire at the best of times even more so when your newly qualified but Harriot has rose to the challenge.

Harriot is always smiling and has a positive can do attitude. Families and our patients love her and this is evident on her caring and compassionate nature. Harriots confidence is growing and she takes every learning opportunity avaliable in developing her knowledge and skills.

Harriot is a valued member of the CAU team and I look forward to watching her consolidate her new role.

Harriot is newly qualified and has started her staff nurse post on one of the most unpredictable and at times, challenging units, CAU. The Children’s Assessment unit can be demanding and busy 24 hours a day, requiring the nursing staff to be skilled in assessing and treating a wide variety of conditions. Harriot has embraced the challenge and has embedded herself into the CAU team. Facing each day with enthusiasm and a smile. Harriot is keen to develop and learn, recognising her limitations and asks for help appropriately. She is great with patients and their families, offering a caring and compassionate approach to nursing, receiving positive feedback from the “friends and family” forms. Harriot is a great asset to the Paediatric team.
