“Wow what a ward, where do I start. It a fantastic place to work. All the staff are friendly, helpful and caring. The team pulls to together in any crisis and yes 2020 has definitely being a test of that. The skill of the team is amazing. Everyone is encouraging and supportive of each other. They’re are amazing!!!
The feedback from my patients in the community from an admission to Caroline Thorpe Ward are always excellent, they always say haw lovely and supportive the team are and help reassure them their children are being well looked after.
This is the most friendliest and welcoming team to work with. They are the most supportive team ever to work with as a new registrar. They make life enjoyable at work, they support you in challenging times, they make sure your looked after and all from your very first day there. You feel part of the Caroline Thorpe Ward family. Thank you all for being so brilliant and supportive!
Excellent care of children & young people newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes during the COVID pandemic. They applied the necessary COVID restrictions with compassion and made adjustments to facility the best educational experience for these families some of whom were visitors from out of area. A truly fabulous effort from all the nursing staff
Caroline Thorpe Ward is a small ward with the biggest team support! Call that dreaded red bell and you know that within seconds the team will be there to support you and provide the best care possible to that patient! We have a great relationship and communication with other hospitals, where we all support each other.
As a newly qualified I was supported throughout and they have now supported me at becoming a HDU nurse. We might be small but we support each other every day! Excellent team, all work together wonderfully
Amazing care team. Caroline Thorpe ward is only a small ward but has an amazing team providing care and support for not only the child but also their family. Every member of the team provides consistent care in all situations with a cheerful friendly manner. The staff work well as a team and make great efforts to utilise each other’s skills, supporting each other throughout.
I’m sure I’m not alone when I say what a year it’s been. It’s certainly been an interesting one and yet again out team has risen to the challenge with great Gusto !
We have engaged in so many potential changes to the way we deliver care but each one met with a quiet acceptance, knowing the benefits to the patients and their families. As this is always our driving force. Working closely with CAMHS to facilitate a reduction in children and young people admitted to the ward, assessing virtually.
Our PHDU lead had the unenviable task of teaching and reassuring us that it would be OK to look after a ventilated patient in PHDU, on the ward. Not an easy task! I am certainly proud to be part of such an amazing team.”
