Before you submit a nomination please read the following information (link below)
We want all hospitals to have representation in the PAFTA process and this can only happen with your nominations!
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE SUBMITTING NOMINATIONS!
1. You DON’T need to make nominations in every category – just scroll down and click next on any pages that you don’t have nominations for
2. You can make MORE than one nomination in a category by logging in a second time – but make sure you go to the end and submit the form before logging in again
3. Please READ and CONSIDER the judging criteria before submitting your nomination – We can only pick the winners based on what you have written!
4. Remember that the nomination text will appear on the PAFTAS website – We don’t have capacity to spell check or format nominations before publication. Please don’t put in anything we can’t publish online in your nomination!
5. Please ensure that you submit the nominees FULL name and place of work
6. Please ensure you submit the email address of the nominee (or their manager if you cannot find their email address) – you can search their name on NHS mail for most staff in your own trust.
7. Please try and limit your nominations to under 250 words

Judging criteria
Paediatric Junior Hero (ST1-3s, FTs & GPSTs)
Paediatric Speciality Trainees and other junior doctors at SHO/Tier 1 level who have shown outstanding promise, ability and teamwork.
The winner of this category will be submitted to the RCPCH for National PAFTA consideration.
Junior Hero (ST1-3)
1. Demonstrates excellence in the fulfilment of their work in paediatrics
2. Demonstrates exemplary team working and support to peers
3. Demonstrates excellence in their interaction with patients and their families
4. Embodies the values of RCPCH*
Paediatric Senior Hero (ST4-8 & SAS doctors)
Paediatric Trainees/SAS/Speciality/Staff Grade doctors at Registrar level who have shown outstanding ability, leadership and teamwork.
The winner of this category will be submitted to the RCPCH for National PAFTA consideration.
The Kate Westwood Memorial Award for Senior Hero (ST4-8 & SAS doctors)
1. Demonstrates excellence in fulfilment of their work in Paediatrics
2. Demonstrates exemplary team working, leadership, role-modelling and support to peers
3. Demonstrates excellence in their interaction with patients and their families
4. Embodies the values of the RCPCH*
Paediatric Consultant Hero
Consultants who have embody the principles of the RCPCH, role-model for trainees, inspire their colleagues and unite the multidisciplinary team.

Paediatric Consultants who have shown exceptional ability in the role of Educational Supervisors, and embody the principles of the RCPCH

1. Demonstrates excellence in the education of Paediatric Trainees
2. Demonstrates exemplary personal support to trainees
3. Demonstrates innovation in teaching and education

Non Clinical Staff Award
Non Clinical Staff, such as domestics, secretaries, managers and rota coordinators, who may not have direct contact with patients, but make a priceless contribution to the front line staff, allowing them to perform their roles more completely.

Healthcare & Nursing Assistant of the Year
This award is open to all HCAs, Nursery Nurses and NAs, who have consistently demonstrate commitment to children, their families and their colleagues, that goes above and beyond.

1. Demonstrates outstanding care and commitment to children, young people and their families.
2. Provides an exceptional service to support, enable and encourage their team to work better and more effectively with children & young people.

The Debbie Eadie Award for Advanced Nurse Practice
ANNPs, APNPs and ACPs who’s work builds bridges and unites medical and nursing specialities to work more closely and cohesively for patients and departments.
