Lillie Baker
Works at University Hospitals Plymouth
Lillie is committed to her work with neurodiverse children. Nothing is ever too much trouble, she constantly positive and hardworking. The feedback I get from young people who have worked with Lillie is excellent.
Notably, Lillie has recently done some work with an extremely complex young person with multiple health co-morbidities. This has involved working outside of her role with other services to ensure this young person is well supported. The young person has been able to develop a positive working relationship with Lillie which they have been unable to do before with other professionals. She has been fundamental in being able to complete an ADHD assessment for this young person, ensuring they have access to appropriate support and treatment.
Another example of her going above and beyond is her work with a family where mum and dad have a diagnosed learning disability which has meant they have had difficulties engaging with services and professionals. Lillie has supported them in understanding their child’s autism diagnosis, by making extra appointments, telephone calls, working with school and helping them complete forms and paper work.
Lillie’s latest project is helping to set up an ADHD clinic within a specialist school who have a high number of children seen at the CDC in attendance. These children are extremely complex and families often require extra support to engage in services. Lillie hopes that by taking our service into the school and working closely with the school SENCo, we can encourage better engagement and ultimately better ongoing support for children and young people with neurodiversity.

She is truly a standout individual who represents the very best of healthcare support.
Kim is phenomenal, she is one of the hardest workers I have ever met. When she’s on, you know everything is topped up and tidy. She is able to take patients and look after them as well as if she were a nurse (which she should be!). She has a special flare for our long term patients, always managing to build a rapport with them. As a result I think I am asked by patients daily when Kim is next on, or if Kim is going to have them. Unfortunately this does mean that she ends up taking more then her fair share of complicated patients, or looking after them more then others. However she is not afraid to stand up for herself and say when something feels unfair, which I think is a real positive and such a good example she is setting to staff for standing up for themselves and others. She has sound ideas and able to think outside the box and how to help alleviate stress for her team. I know when I am in charge, I am so pleased to see Kim on. What a wonderful team player, and I know if there is something I am unsure of she will help support and know that her ideas or opinions are well thought out and I trust her judgement completely. I think she needs to go and do her nurse training!
Kim is an exceptional Healthcare Assistant whose thoughtful, compassionate nature shines through in everything she does. She builds wonderful rapport with patients of all ages—babies, children, and teenagers alike—always adapting her approach with patience and sensitivity. Kim consistently demonstrates outstanding teamwork, supporting colleagues and never shying away from demanding tasks. She remains calm and proactive in difficult situations, quickly recognising concerns and appropriately alerting staff to ensure patient safety. Her reliability, professionalism, and genuine care make her an invaluable member of the team. Kim’s dedication reflects the very best of healthcare, and frankly everybody loves her.
