Nominated for Healthcare and Nursing Assistant of the Year Award
Works at Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
Natalie is a well liked HCA within Child Health at Torbay. She always has a smile on her face and is so supportive to the whole team. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff or children and their families. She is kind and empathetic to all and is often found playing with the children, cheering them up when they’re feeling poorly. She is an excellent advocate and communicated really well with the young people with mental health difficulties too.
Natalie should know what an absolute superstar she is.Nat constantly puts the child and family first and I think consistently flys under the radar due to it. Most recently she has developed a treasure hunt using pictures along the route from PAEDS ED to Louisa Cary. This sort of child centred thinking is invaluable to a DGH whine it comes to showing the value of care for children.
Natalie is an absolute shining star on the paediatric ward – she is always working with a smile on her face, making the stays of patients and families as bright and fun as they can.
She is a great listener to our young people, whilst providing fun activities and distractions during their tough times.
Natalie is a pleasure to work alongside and appreciated by all members of the MDT.A lovely kind healthcare assistant, she is a beam of energy on the ward. Always taking her initiative and carrying out jobs on the ward. Very creative and going above and beyond for the children. Always keen to learn new skills and educate herself.
Nat is an absolutely credit to the Louisa Cary team, she is constantly thinking of new ways to make children feel at ease & reduce the anxiety of being in hospital, she has recently put up pictures on the route from paediatric ED to the children’s ward where children have to tick off all the pictures they see on the route as a distraction, she also goes above and beyond to support nursing staff and makes our job a lot less stressful especially in busier times.
