Kind, Caring, Knowledgeable, dealing with complex cases within mental health and eating disorders, poorly children, oncology patients and high dependency patients all within one ward.
As a newly qualified nurse I feel so extremely supported and proud to be a part of such an amazing team. Everyone is so amazing and always smiling
This time last year, no-one could have predicted the pressures on paediatric services and pressures on Bramble as a team. But as always, Bramble has stuck together, working as a brilliant team, offering high class care to everyone who comes through those doors. It’s with both sadness and admiration that some of the fabulous team have left for new life challenges, and Bramble has welcomed lots of new team members to the team with open arms. Bramble is such a friendly, busy place, and its clear to see how welcoming they are as a team, with the mass of MDTs that pass through daily. Bramble as a whole is such exceptional team and ward, that advocates for patients, ensuring that their care is second to none. Working with all different types of teams in order to allow children to fulfil their potential and meet their care needs. The individualised care of patients and their families is a priority and that is always at the forefront of Bramble excellent team.
Bramble Ward continues to face extreme pressures and challenging situations. Despite this, as a team we continue support each other through everything. I have never felt so supported in a team, and it is truly feels like an honour to be a part of this Bramble family! Thank you everyone!
Bramble, bramble, bramble!!! Where do I start, Bramble is the best team I have ever been a part of. They greet EVERYONE with huge open arms regardless of your role on the ward. They are a fantastic team to work with, they will support each and every colleague where and when they can. They stick together like glue! They are amazing at communicating, delegating duties and ensuring the ward is always ran to the highest standard, this does not go unnoticed by managers or visitors by the ward (bank staff ALWAYS want to return to Bramble!). Bramble will always ensure we have the BEST outcomes for their patients, and will always be there to advocate for them and their families. Bramble always follows the codes of conduct and embodies the values of the trust, again this does not go unnoticed. I have loved my time on bramble and I cannot wait to continue my journey with them!
Bramble Ward has come up against so many difficulties this year and the one thing that has helped me through it all is knowing that we have all stuck together and worked through it as a team. I don’t think I could find better people to work with!

Bramble ward is an incredible place to work. The team work on shifts day in day out of faultless.
Everyone is always looking out for one another and helping wherever they can.
The last 2 years especially have been extremely challenging on the ward and these times continue, but even on the most challenging of shifts, support of offered , tea is made and laughs are had.
It’s an honour to be part of such an incredible team, there really is no better team I would want to be working with.
The whole team on Bramble have been amazingly supportive of me during my first general paediatric placement and I have learnt so much in my 8 months with them. From the beginning the whole team has been supportive, keen to teach and willing to answer even the silliest questions and have always made me feel like a welcome and included member of the team which isn’t always easy given how often juniors rotate!
The consultants are all excellent clinicians, who I have learnt so much from. They are all approachable and happy to help with even the smallest queries. Many of them are very keen to teach and give me feedback and have helped me grow in knowledge, skill and confidence. I have learnt so much from their kindness and compassion to families and the way they communicate with patients and the MDT.
The nursing team are incredible, they work exceptionally hard on a busy and sometimes challenging ward to help look after all patients from babies to teenagers, adopting their approach to care appropriately. They have been exceptional in the care provided to some of our patients admitted with mental health crises, whose behaviour at times has been difficult to manage. In spite of the challenges they always work with compassion and kindness,.
The wider MDT are brilliant, especially or physios (shout out to Adam!), play specialists and HCAs. They are all keen to contribute, share their knowledge and are highly skilled. We have some patients who have trick to manage behaviour over the last few months and the health care assistants have been an amazing team in advocating for these patients and also helping to de-escalate tricky behaviout.
Bramble ward has demonstrated exceptional internal and external teamwork. Bramble ward has exceptional interaction with the wider teams. Bramble ward will strive to advocate for children and young people. Our team is made up of a wide variety of skills and together we use these so well to carry out the values of the RCPCH.
