Nominated for Nursing Role Model of the Year Award

Holly is such a valved member of Bramble. Since I started on the ward just over 2 years ago, I know I can seek help with anything and ask the simplest questions, but Holly is such a good teacher she never makes you feel like the most obvious question isn’t of valve, even if actually you already knew the answer. She is dedicated to patient care and often has the sickest patients in HDU, on nightshifts, yet her calming nature and natural ability to care, you’d never know. Holly always ensures families are cared for, as often they don’t remain in HDU with their child, but she has such a way to make families feel included and cared for, they are happy to leave their child with her. Holly has been kind of my security blanket since becoming a nurse, as she is such a great source of knowledge and is able to make the most stressful situations seem calm. She has a way of explaining things that ensures you learn, with a patience that allows you to do a task with her overseeing and guiding you (A gift not everyone has on a busy shift). She is amazing. I’ve watched Holly in awe, the way she advocates and ensures patient safety is second to none. Everyone valves her professional opinion, and she has a way of remaining calm and friendly in the most stressful of situations. I love working and learning from Holly.
Holly is an exceptional nurse, acting as a role model to other nurses within the team. Holly always supports everyone and is always happy to support nurses to develop and learn further. Holly is a great support and always happy to help newly qualified nurses and nurses in areas they may not have worked within before. When you are on shift with Holly you always feel supported and know you can ask her for help. Holly often is in charge and always remains calm and is always a great support when she is. Holly is such a lovely, kind hearted nurse who is amazing with all of her patients and colleagues.
