Emma Leaman

Nominated for Nursing Role Model of the Year Award

Works at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – EASTERN

Emma fully deserves this nomination as she is an amazing nurse and a wonderful person to work with. She is so supportive of her colleagues and I always feel at ease when she is on shift!

Emma is such a dedicated nurse; she is a wealth of knowledge and is always on hand for patients and colleagues. She advocates to the highest standards for patient care, and this shown at best when she is in HDU, with some of the sickest patients. Emma has been on Bramble for many years, she is a down to earth, team player but also a great advocate for staff, running meeting for bands 2-5 for improvements for the ward, morale and ensuring that the ward is the best it can be. Emma also runs a club for staff to ensure that events such as weddings/births etc are acknowledged from Bramble as team. She is dedicated to Bramble itself, and this really is shown with her passion for teaching, working with students and newly qualified nurses. Emma will always stand up for what she believes in, and her patients always come first. She is the queen of knowledge for scoliosis patients and even helped rewrite the pre-op and checking paperwork to ensure that patients received the best care prior to surgery and beyond. Emma has taken the nurse in charge of the ward role, many times and does it with such ease. You know whatever the shift might entails, Emma has everyone in her mind.

Emma is a font of knowledge and a valued member of team bramble.

Emma is an incredible advocate for staff and patients , ensuring her patients get the best care possible and always looking for ways to improve morale and improve and clarify things for staff.
