Nominated for Nursing Role Model of the Year Award
Works at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust
Simply one of a kind. Charlotte is not only a role model to her colleagues and new nursing students but the children that she cares for. When you have been a patient yourself on the ward that you now work on it’s all but inspiring to those around you.
She can sympathies with the children that she cares for in a way that very few nurses can. While still battling the illness that she was born with as a child she is still able to inspire and empower those around her. Her moral boosting leadership style is infectious and staff always enjoy working with her.
Charlotte has had a particularly rough year battling her chronic illness and had to fight for her life on ITU and fight is what she did! Through this awful time, work was always in the back of her mind. Keen to keep up to date with what was happening on and off the ward. But her ultimate goal was to return to work as soon as she could to do what she does best.
Charlottes recent career progression to junior sister has only seen her flourish in this new role. Her passion to make working on the ward an enjoyable place to be is only echoed by the staff, patients and their families.
With her trade mark greeting of “hey huns” and her infectious smile she is a true deserver of this award and the reason that she gets my nomination.
