Megan Haynes-Parry

Nominated for Nursing Role Model of the Year Award

Works at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust

Megan is an example of everything a paediatric nurse encompasses. Able to communicate with all ages of children & adolescents and their family. Approachable, calm, considerate of her colleagues and always willing to advocate for patients and staff !
I have seen her delegate tasks fairly, ensure her team have had their breaks, offer help out in adult ED, and recognise the needs of a team.
She thoroughly deserves a nomination of recognition.
Meg is a real go getter, she not only has tonnes of valuable knowledge , the kids love her and so do we as a team . She is friendly and supportive and always makes the shift go quicker and easier . Not only this but she is the lead for the newly qualified nurses who I know value her and all of the hard work she has put in this last year to make their transition into the department easier and to make them feel supported.

Megan is a phenomenal Band 6 who always provides the best care for her patients and their families, but is also an amazing teacher, life coach, cheerleader and role model.
She is always empowering towards all students and junior nurses, and has provided the best support/guidance for them the last year.
The whole team really appreciates you.
Thank you!

Your support towards new starts and newly qualified nurses is beyond incredible! You’ve taken the time to really support them in any way you can. Perfect and most knowledgeable role model.
