Sally is one of the most fantastic nurses. Sally has so much knowledge, experience and passion for her job. Sally has dedicated her life to nursing and is fantastic in every aspect of her job.

Sally is such an inspiration to all who work at North Devon, she is devoted, hard working and extremely committed to every single patient she looks after. She communicates so well to the medical team and her experience and knowledge is always appreciated and valued. Sally is not only caring to her patients, but also to her colleagues, and is incredibly supportive of anyone who needs it. She is a brilliant patient and parent advocate and is really a delight to work with.

Sally is a brilliant paediatric nurse and is a fantastic role model to those who are at earlier stages in their careers. Her wealth of experience is invaluable and she is always happy to offer advice and support – particularly supporting doctors who are new to the trust or their roles. She is able to manage the most complex and unwell HDU patients and remain calm and totally in control. She is able to anticipate the needs of the patient and has almost always thought of the next step before the medical team, usually having a tray ready for whatever intervention is required. She supports and encourages less experienced doctors and nurses and gives feedback which is always helpful for learning. Sally is a brilliant advocate for patients and their families and excels at communication making families feel heard and cared for while also giving them great explanations of what we think is wrong and what we are doing to help. Families are in the safest hands with Sally.
