Asha Petherick

Nominated for Junior Nurse of the Year Award

Works at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – EASTERN

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Asha is and how lucky we are to have her as part of the Bramble team. To start with Asha is the nurse I would aspire to be. She is a breath of fresh air and and you always know the shift is going to be ok when she is on (and gives the best hugs!). She treats every patient and their families as if they are her only patient regardless of how busy she is. She acts as an advocate at all times and demonstrates the highest standard of nursing to patients of all ages. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Asha and everyone who has the pleasure to meet her loves her warm and bubbly personality. Asha takes on every opportunity for learning which is availble and always seeks to improve her practice to provide the highest level of care to her patients. Asha will often be known to stay late to support her patients or the rest of the nursing team or take on additional work to relieve stress of her colleagues. Asha manages to make her colleagues days better by remembering everyones names and includes them in decision making and listening to opinions denominating working well within the multidisciplinary team. A problem shared with Asha automatically feels like a problem halved, and she also knows how to have a laugh and bring fun and enthusiasm to the ward and we are so so so lucky to have her!
