What can I say about Katy except she is so admired by all the consultants and nursing team and held up as an example of what an excellent paediatrician is. She is a role model for me as someone a few years behind in my consultant career and I’m in awe of her dedication, hard-work, energy, passion to engage and improve and impressed by her pragmatism and practicality when it comes to managing complexity and pressure in the job. Her reputation in the department is of a high-achieving, highly-skilled, super-nice, kick-ass doctor and we are so lucky to have her in our team.

Katy is such a lovely colleague. She is extremely hard working and a very supportive member of our team. She is always open to giving advice and share her knowledge. Katy always give interesting and informative teaching whatever level you are and gets great feedback from all levels from medical students to fellow consultants. Katy’s patients (and their families) respond well to her excellent communication skills and this has been very evident in a recent palliative case. Katy also works hard to make sure all members of the team interact and also have fun, organising out of work events for everyone. I think she deserves this recognition!
