Gilly is just the best! Extremely knowledgable and efficient at work, but also kind, approachable and friendly. The care she provides for our little patient is remarkable. Gilly, apart from providing excellent acute care for the babies, also pays a lot of attention to how the situation affects the families. Dr Forward takes her time to explain everything to families and answer all their questions, putting them at ease knowing their baby is in the best hands. Gilly is a great senior, no question is ever too stupid for her to answer. She is a very supportive consultant, empowering juniors to perform their best when working with Gilly.

Gilly is an excellent consultant, she is always calm and supportive even at the most stressful times. She takes opportunities for teaching and learning and, being so calm and cool at all times very rarely passes off a training opportunity for junior colleagues, even when acuity or workload is high. Gilly’s heir of competence instills the confidence of the whole MDT and the families in her care. She is a great asset to the team and to child health in Devon. She is a role model to aspiring paediatricians and to trainees, her enjoyment of her job is obvious.

Gilly is a fantastic consultant. She has settled into the NNU team at Exeter so well. She will always take a holistic approach to her work and demonstrates compassion and empathy to parents and families.
