I struggle sometimes to remember James is only in his first few of years of being a consultant. He has already achieved so much. He is an excellent leader, innovator, colleague and mentor.
He has fully embraced his role as mental
Health lead. Being an excellent advocate for our young people. Whilst also taking on regional leadership roles in the same area. He is innovative in both his approach to problems but also how he encourages collaboration.
He has as enthusiastically taken on the college tutor role. With innovative changes to the teaching delivery and is a brilliant encourager of teaching both formal and informal.
There is no way I can list the many many ways and forms that James shows his dedication to excellent healthcare for children and young people. I am so pleased to have him as a colleague and to have benefited from his excellent mentorship skills.

James dearden is a massive advocate for the children and young people he supports. He is supportive to all the staff he works with and will go above and beyond. He is involved in mutiple workstreams and will follow guidelines, he will show appropriate policies and guidelines to other to ensure we meet trust and national standards.
I have sat in training and you can hear the passion that James has for his job. From his work with mental health to acute care, he is extraordinary with all the work he does. After difficult events, he will support and Debrief with all the staff and offer support, answers questions that we have. He is great with the CYP, you can hear the care and compassion in his voice. Ensuring they know someone is their for them and ensure they leave feeling supported.
He is great to work with and be around, you always feel supported and that he listens to you, advocate for CYP and staff. He is remarkable and has alot of time for the team& young people around him.

James dearden commitment to his work streams, his hard work and dedication is remarkable. He has a great work ethic and stieves for greatness. He is passionate about supporting children and young people everywhere. He advocate for all the children and young people he works with and is all about improving the environment and support for them. He has outstanding leadership skills and very proactive. He is caring and compassionate when speaking to families and children&young people, when he talks to them you can see how much he cares. He treats the older children with respect and let them know he is here to listen to them, they voice matters.
He is full of knowledge and great to be around. He has brought mutiple professional together from all over the South West who now link in together to improve incredible professional practice and share ideas. He is a remarkable consultant and embody the principles of the RCPCH. He is always great to talk to and has positive relationships with staff, he truly is one of a kind and deserves recognition for everything he does.
