The paediatric team in Torbay emergency department are a small but key team in the emergency department.
Tracey, lindsay,Ellie,Rosie, dan, nadia,Katie,Natalie,Laura,Holly,Jasmine,Kayleigh,Amy and Tara. Each one bring there own key part to this little department and make it great. Whenever I go around they are always working hard, teaching others and playing around with the children, they are always there for each order. I love being in the paediatric area Tara helped me to learn more and the nurses, listened to me and helped me aswell. I feel more confident working in paediatric area and lindsay does educational training on her paediatric study day. Looking forward to finishing my spotting the sick child to get my badge.
They have all helped me grow and helped me inprove my practice(Sorry if missed any names of team, your all great)Paediatric team are incredible, they see some much come into there department and manage it extremely well. They are a great team to be around and have a positive upbeat attitude to work. No matter how busy and overwhelming they are, they make it word and are there for each other.
They act rapidly in an emergency and will advocate if concerned with child, they are untied. Everyone I have met has been welcoming and teaching me everything I need to know. I was nervous about things and they made me feel more confident and that I could do it. Having all the folders on the side and showing me all the different paperwork such as fluid charts, sepsis tools and HEEADSSS assessment. The staff within the paediatric emergency department at Torbay Hospital consistently work together at a high high level to ensure quality care is given to all who attend ED. They have received praise from Derriford and WATCh for their stabilisation of Sick Children before transferred out and receive constantly positive feedback. The nursing team always act as advocates for their patients in the wider scope of ED, and it is for this that they deserve the recognition.
The paediatric team have had tough few months and have moved to a great new area. The nursing team are incredible. They have all adapted to the new area and you can see how much happier they are seeing all the children and young people, they are rapid in getting support and care needed for those children. The team are overwhelmed with patients and are still calm and relaxed, having saftey huddles. They stick together and you always hear them say thank you to everyone between shifts, everyone is a valued member.
They all give the best care as a team. I couldn’t pick 1 person to nominate so I have done everyone as a team. This team also received a nomination from a parent, however we are unable to place text from children, young people or their families on our website, but the text will be passed onto the team.
