Fantastic team of 3 nurses, who have together improved the Allergy service at such a pace that I (as Lead Consultant) can barely keep up with them.
In a short space of time we now have a (much – used) generic Allergy Nurse e-mail for advice, a pre-assessment clinic, a much – increased capacity for skin prick tests and food challenges, several new patient information leaflets, nurse prescribing for antihistamines and adrenaline, improved parent education re. adrenaline autoinjectors etc, better links with schools. I’ve probably forgotten several other new initiatives.
They are all really positive and ‘can-do’ to work with, and I know they often stay late and go the extra mile. Children and families have spoken highly of them on many, many occasions.
