Rosie is an amazing nurse. She is kind and compassionate with babies and their families. She communicates clearly and her compassion for neurodevelopmental care, skin to skin and breastfeeding shines through.
Having been with acutely unwell babies and resuscitations with Rosie, she is calm, competent and I am always grateful to know I am on shift with her. She has also made to time to check in with me and other team members when things haven’t gone so well.
Rosie has helped to educate the team on areas she is passionate about such as neurodevelopment.
Rosie looks after the teams wellbeing whether that is through her amazing baking skills or through organising the NNU Snowdon walk which was great for team building and charity.
Rosie is so committed to bettering the experience of our babies and families. She recently sewed several hundred (thousand?) skin to skin wraps for babies across the region, in her own time. I’m just amazed by her energy and her drive. She is such a valuable asset to the team, she really deserves to be recognised for it.
Rosie is just amazing in anything she does!
She is not only an exceptional nurse in charge, she is also extremely knowledgable in her clinical work. Babies that Rosie provides care for are always nursed to the highest standard.
Rosie cares about our families and it shows. She not only makes sure physiological and medical needs of babies are met, she provides them with unprecedented neurodevelopmental care!
Families are in the best hands when Rosie is their nurse and that is something they often comment on.
Rosie took part in developing Kangaroo Care bundle and handsaw multiple Kangaroo care wraps, which are now used in our Unit to improve parents experience in skin to skin cuddles.
Rosie is also very active in organising charity events in which our Unit takes part. Funds raised in them are supporting various charitable organisations including Newborn Vietnam.
On top of all of that, she is involved in numerous Quality improvement and research projects ( mainly around neurodevelopmental care).Working with Rosie is incredibly inspiring. Her passion for neonatal care is infectious as she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the needs of her tiny patients are met. She often underestimates the tremendous impact she has on families and colleagues and I hope this nomination encourages her to keep doing the wonderful work that she does.
Rosie is always a pleasure to work with. During my first night shift as an ST1, she took me under her wing and supported me through every delivery and every review that I had to do. I will always be grateful for this. She goes out of her way ensure the wellness of her colleagues, as well as her patients and their parents. She is an excellent team player and her compassion always shines through. She is heavily involved in fund-raising for charities within our department, and the team wouldn’t be complete without her!
Rosie works relentlessly to provide such a high standard of care within the neonatal unit and encourage and supports other team members to do the same. Rosie never leaves on time she will stay late to ensure everyone feels supported and happy particularly on busy or shifts that are short staffed! She never comes to shift without a tin of homemade brownies or cake which is always a bonus on busy shifts!
Rosie treats everyone fairly and with dignity, she is a bubbly brights and happy person to be around and is always there to support the team and individuals who need it.
Rosie is instrumental in initiating lots of projects on the unit such as making cuddle wraps so that parents and babies can feel safe and secure during skin to skin cuddles she spent hours at home making them and is the lead cuddle champion of the unit.
Rosie is also the lead within our baby massage team providing families with baby massage sessions on the unit and teaching other staff how to carry out baby massage as well as doing lots of extra breast feeding support courses to help support mothers with feeding their baby.
