Works at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – EASTERN
Sarah is an amazing rota coordinator who bends over backwards to support the team. She is organised and reliable – ensuring rotas are sent out months in advance which has such a huge impact on wellbeing and ability of staff to manage work-life balance. If you need time off she will do everything within her power to make that possible.
Sarah is a phenomenon. Although the role of rota coordinator is in itself a crucial component to the success of any unit, nobody could fill this role in quite the same way as Sarah does. She treats every concern or request with the highest level of care, never failing to appreciate the individual’s circumstances. Sarah is our unsung hero and deserves to be recognized for the constant work she does to keep us all sane and happy!
Sarah is a fantastic at her job, super organised and caring & considerate in her approach to managing the challenges of the rotas.
Hands down the best member of the administrative team I have ever known. No shift swap or leave request is too small for her to help organise cover. Sarah manages to take the stress out of what usually feels like the worst part of the job. Not having Sarah is the thing I will miss most about Exeter when I’m working anywhere else.
Sarah is an exceptional colleague and is valued beyond measure by both Medical and Management teams. As our Paediatric Rota Co-ordinator, Sarah is an absolute pleasure to work with – she is bright, engaged, bubbly and brings a smile to everything that she does. She is exceptionally organised and methodical, and her positive approach and care for the role and her colleagues is the key to her success. Sarah goes above and beyond in her role – she is thorough in her approach and cares about her role, performance, reputation, relationships and the impact her work has on her colleagues. Sarah does an incredible job in supporting junior doctors in many ways, which isn’t always directly in her job description but she recognises the importance of doing this to support the health and wellbeing of staff, and therefore the success of the department as a whole. As a department we have confidence and assurance that Sarah always maintains an awareness of the rota position and works tirelessly to guarantee safe staffing, ensuring that potential issues are mitigated with as much notice as possible and multiple options are explored with a view to achieving this. In their feedback, doctors highlight Sarah’s communication, support and willingness to accommodate their requests as ‘unique’ in the NHS, which is a credit to her and an incredible achievement of which she should be really proud. Sarah’s organisation and work ethic is absolutely invaluable – she is the glue to the department in so many ways. She is an advocate for the doctors to ensure they are recognised for their exceptionally hard work, she checks in when she hears someone has had a tricky shift, and she ultimately keeps the department running, even through the most challenging times. We would be lost without Sarah and we are so grateful for her ongoing commitment and love for her job. It shines through. Thank you Sarah!
Sarah is the glue that holds the paediatric and neonatal departments at RD&E together.
She is able to maintain all tiers of rota and is endlessly supportive of trainees looking to fit in additional experiences or important life events during their placements at Exeter.
The benefit of this on the departments as a whole cannot be understated. She ensures that safe staffing is always provided and that patients are always receiving good care. The impact of her hard work on morale of the team and therefore the ability to provide great care to patients and families is so apparent.
She is the reason everyone wants to rotate to Exeter. When working with Sarah you feel like respected as a person as well as a doctor.
