Mubashar is our paediatric lead and could not be more committed. He is always there with a calm, cheerful smile, there to listen to every problem, no matter how big or small. He leads by example and is often filling shifts and sorting out problems outside of his role to help others. He is very approachable and supportive to everyone which makes him an excellent clinical lead. At the same time he makes a special effort to teach junior members of the team at every opportunity. I don’t know where he finds the enthusiasm! He is also brilliant with children and families, always taking the time to listen to them and explain the diagnosis and plan in an open, clear manner which makes them feel at ease. A brilliant colleague and supervisor!
Mubashar has been clinical lead in Torbay for several years now and he has shown compassionate leadership and complete dedication throughout his tenure. He is exemplary in supporting his colleagues and always has an encouraging word as well as a calm presence, despite all the stresses of his role and the difficulties faced by the department. I particularly enjoy his weekly photographs of nature which he sends out to the team with a philosophical and positive and uplifting comment. He also remains positive against all the odds. He asks for the teams opinions, is very democratic, and seeks people out in their offices just to say hi and check in. He will step in to cover the endless acute shifts that need covering, leading by example. ( I might just add that his consultant colleagues are also stepping in all the time too!). I rarely see him with patients but have never heard a patient or family have anything but good things to say about him. He is incredibly fair minded, patient and listens to peoples issues, which makes him a great community paediatrician, but likewise he has great skill as an acute paediatrician, managing sick babies on scbu, undertaking procedures with skill and success. I would love for him to get some recognition for all his incredibly hard work and dedication to Paediatrics and the Torbay team. I imagine it must be hard to be a compassionate leader, but he pulls it off brilliantly. Thank you Mubashar.
A kind hearted and incredibly clever paediatric consultant that has truely inspired many juniors to consider paediatric training.
His ability to teach ad hoc whilst conducting ward round is excellent and his trust in his team makes them really love working with him.
His patients frankly rave about how great he is and his colleagues feel at ease when he is around. He really has taught me a lot in a short space of time, whilst also being incredibly kind during difficult situations.
