Esther is incredibly supportive of her team, particularly the trainees. She will go out of her way to ensure trainees are well supported and she will check in after they’ve been involved in difficult situations even if she wasn’t the consultant involved.

Esther is a fantastic consultant who support others and always manages the team with a level head. She is extremely calm and reliable in stressful situations and empowers others to progress in their role. She leads the neonatal service really well, ensuring we make the most of educational opportunities and is always looking to improve our service where possible. She has an exceptional manner with patients and their families, always considering the psychosocial aspect of illness and how this affect families, wanting to do the best for them.

Esther is an fantastic consultant to work with, watching her with patients and their parents is so lovely, she has gentle, calm and clear approach and is able to communicate the most challenging topics with compassion and is a way that is clearly understood by parents.
She is one of the most supportive consultants to her peers and trainees, she always gives her time (even when she doesn’t really have any) and actively asks if everything is ok and if she can help in any way. I continue to learn from her every time I work with her, whether that be sharing knowledge or experience on how to deal with a patient/situation or in how she interacts with the wider members of the MDT. I don’t think Esther realises how good a consultant she is and how valued she is, she is a great role model.

Esther works incredibly hard for her colleagues and her patients, and always deals with things in a measured, balanced and fair way.
She has been instrumental in leading and developing the neonatal service in Torbay, despite numerous difficulties outside of her control.
She is incredibly committed to her patients, and will often be seen on the ward in her spare time seeing one of her long term or complex patients to ensure that they have excellent continuity and quality of care.

Esther is a brilliant all-round consultant; always there for guidance and support both from a personal and professional aspect.
She ensures that her patients and families concerns are listened to and addressed. She does this all with a calm and organised manner, making her a valuable and well-respected colleague.

Esther is very respected and well thought of within paeds and scbu at Torbay. She always give 100% to her patients, families and also staff. She is always supportive of the nursing team and allows collaborative approach to improve care and services. She is approachable, dependable and reliable and is a great asset for the team at Torbay all those in SCBU are appreciative for her hard work and support
