Still an APNP student but already a fantastic APNP. Elliot is very experienced in both paediatrics and ED has clinical skills and acumen well above that of many of our doctors. Elliot combines this with a calm, reassuring presence and very refreshing good humour and enthusiasm for the job. He is very hard working and efficient and is deeply invested in his professional development. The above means he is already essential in support and encouraging cohesion within both medical and nursing teams (both CAU and ED) and is deeply respected here in Derriford. He always keeps patients at the centre and is very popular with children and their families. He frequently identifies need for service improvement and is proactive and intelligent in addressing issues very effectively. You are fantastic Elliot!
Working with Elliott is a privilege and one that I have had for many years, watching him progress from a student nurse to a trainee APNP.
Elliott is passionate about paediatrics and strives to ensure that his patients and their families are provided with the best care possible.
He is extremely supportive to both medical staff and nursing staff. If the unit is busy he does not hesitate in coming and supporting his colleagues both medical and nursing. He is a supportive and patient teacher and strives to help colleagues be the best they can be. Encouraging them when they lack confidence and boosting them up. He is what team work is all about
Elliot has a such a calming approach which is essential when caring for anxious patients & families, you never see him panic (if he is he hides it well!) With his years of CAU and ED experience he is just who you need in an emergency!
