Sadie Harrison

Nominated for The Debbie Eadie Award for Advance Nurse Practice

Works at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – EASTERN

Sadie works so hard to make our unit a better placer to work. She doesn’t give up on chipping away at a challenge and nothing is ever too much trouble for her. She is kind and supportive and always offers to do anything for anyone. If she wins, please can you tell her to say ‘no’ more often?

Sadie continues to be the bedrock of the staff on the Neonatal unit. Her breadth of knowledge both clinical but also logistical means no problem is without a solution. She gives so much to support her colleague (whether that be a trainee midwife or experienced consultant). The infants under her care get exemplary management in a very caring and timely way. Her clinical skills are fantastic and she openly shares her knowledge to facilitate her team to be the best. Her thirst for increasing her knowledge illustrates her passion for her work and to optimise the way it’s performed. THANK YOU for all you wonderful work.

Sadie is the perfect example of what an ANNP should represent. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable and capable, but she also offers the most reliable and consistent support to her colleagues at all levels. Sadie is the glue that holds us all together and the team would be lost without her!

Sadie is the go-to person for any problem or question I might have. She bridges the gap between nursing and medical team amazingly, retaining so much knowledge.
Sadie has put in huge amounts of work ensuring our Trust’s electronic patient record system works for us, constantly suggesting (and implementing) improvements.
She is warm, funny and kind making her an approachable and important member of the Neonatal Unit team. She has beautifully gentle interactions with the babies and their families and instils confidence in all areas of her practice.
I have also seen Sadie teach and develop junior doctors who might not have worked with ANNPs before, she certainly sets the standards for their future expectations of others in this role.

Sadie is an excellent ANNP. With the years of experience comes incredible knowledge.
Sadie is a life-line for all the juniors starting on Neonates. She always answers our questions, even when not at work. Sadie acts as a glue connecting nursing and medical staff, making sure we all go along and work well together. Thanks to that the working-environment in our Unit is one of a kind.
Families love Sadie, as she not only provides exceptional care for their babies but also friendly word and appropriate explanation for parents.
Sadie is an embodiment of an ideal Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner!

Sadie is an amazing ANNP. She has excellent clinical knowledge, an amazing patient manner and what she doesn’t know about neonates isn’t worth knowing.

Sadie has been really supportive of junior team members and is keen to teach them and hep them learn. She is approachable and happy to help with queries. She helps look after the whole team.

Excellent team player, always going above and beyond to help other members of staff both clinically and educationally. She is very approachable and supportive and it has been a privilege working with her.

Sadie is one of a kind. She is extremely compassionate, kind and dedicated and is loved by all on the neonatal unit who are fortunate enough to work alongside her. Sadie is committed to providing excellent care and is always involved in other projects to ensure we always provide high standards of evidence-based care. She is a huge support for both nursing and medical teams and uses her position to make herself available and approachable to all who work with her. Sadie has a warmth about her that reflects in her conversations with families. She recognises the importance of neurodevelopmental care and ensures procedures and examinations are carried out with this in mind. Sadie encourages everyone to share the same high standards that she possesses and she is a huge advocate for the babies in our care, always willing to impart knowledge and educate others to ensure these standards are upheld by all.

Sadie Harrison is truly incredible and a credit to not only the neonatal unit, but she is the human embodiment of the NHS and its values.

Sadie is knowledgable and skilled in all aspects of her role.
She offers a helpful hand to all around her if needed; from consultants to clerical staff, and always does her job with pride and confidence.

Sadie is truly passionate about providing care of the highest standards to all of the babies and families which come and go through the neonatal unit doors, and quite often goes above and beyond in doing so.

When Sadie is on shift; an air of calm spreads through the unit, and we all know that not only will it be a good shift when working alongside her, but also everything will be done to the highest of standards.
(Plus/ FYI; Sadie knows everything!)

Sadie is an absolute credit to the Exeter Neonatal Unit and a total superstar. She is incredibly dedicated to her role as Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and is valued by her colleagues exceptionally for her hard work, drive and commitment to providing excellent patient care. Sadie brings a smile to everything she does. She is a “Yes” person, and goes over and above to ensure the success of the Unit and her team. Thank you Sadie!
