Has been working at Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
Every shift working with Henry he teaches me something new. His passion for his job and patients is infectious and he will make an outstanding consultant.
Henry is an excellent senior trainee.
His clinical acumen is strong, and built on a range of experiences in neonatal and paediatric departments around the region. He has excellent communication with children, families and staff. And is consistently friendly, approachable and generally unflappable.
His really outstanding qualities are his team leadership and support for his peers, both of which he performs at a level more suggestive of a consultant. He is noted for supporting, mentoring, teaching and developing his more junior colleagues, and whilst in Torbay introduced the One Minute Wonder posters – an innovation to encourage departmental learning. The team unfailingly perform better when Henry is on shift. He is one of those people who just facilitates everyone to work to their best potential.
Henry roundly demonstrates all of the qualities we seek in senior trainees. He is a massive asset in any department, and is well on his way to being an excellent consultant paediatrician. Keep it up, and don’t get seduced by the bright lights of Bristol. (currently in BRHC ED)His ability to calmly assess patients whilst giving room for juniors to flourish is to be admired and his kind and professional approach with patients means they feel safe and reassured.
All of the colleagues that I know that have worked with Henry admire his hard work and enthusiasm. He is kind approachable and an excellent example of what paediatric trainees should aim for.
