Leigh is such a consistent calm presence. She always knows the answers to my silly questions and never seems put out by them! She organises the NNU teaching rota which can be a thankless task, but she puts real effort and imagination into finding speakers and topics that are useful and interesting. She is a pleasure to work with I think she is part of the glue holding the unit together.
Leigh is an extremely competent doctor and wonderful and hugely valued member of our team.
I have observed Leigh counselling parents who have a baby requiring neonatal care and she communicates so beautifully with them; she makes decisions and plans of care for babies, ensuring that they and their families are always at the centre and advocates for them at all times.
She is always calm even when under pressure and is able to work collaboratively with all members of the medical and nursing team. She is an incredibly reassuring presence and I am always grateful when we are working together, not just because of her competence and calm persona but because she is also fun to work with. Leigh doesn’t realise how good a doctor she is and we are incredibly grateful to have her in the team.Leigh goes above and beyond every day as a trust grade on the Neonatal Unit. She is dedicated and passionate about being a NNU tier one doctor. Whether it be orgainising teaching, or developing a orientation teaching powerpoint for new trainees, she is always at the forefront of providing support for the team.
Leigh works tirelessly on new projects, always wanting to be involved in making improvements on the unit, supporting new colleagues and ensuring families receive exemplary care.Leigh is a fantastic team member. Her clinical knowledge excellent but also her approachability & desire to help new colleagues to the team. This is exemplified in her work with the teaching rota, induction pack and simulation. She works consciously listening to all input from families & across the multidisciplinary team. It is always a pleasure to work with Leigh.
Excellent team player, always going above and beyond to help other members of staff both clinically and educationally. She often stays on at work, unpaid, to ensure her team are feeling well supported (especially when new members of staff have started working on the unit). It has been a privilege working with her.
Leigh is an absolute delight to work with. She is knowledgable and so competent. She shows passion and commitment by doing her clinical job (very well) but also other projects like organising teaching and research.
She is so kind and gentle with families and parents always talk so positively about Leigh. She respects the team and values other people’s opinions. She is calm in stressful situations and you always know you’re going to be ok if Leigh is on shift!
