“Woodcock ward are an amazing team to have in Derriford. Recently they have shown a great amount of team work across the floor, helping out other areas when they are short staffed or needing people with specific training. Going out of their comfort zone to care for patients that they wouldn’t usually have on the ward. Woodcock have a very good relationship with the MDT, always willing to help them and they’re always happy to help us. Woodcock have a good relationship with their patients and their families and always get some brilliant feedback from the families themselves! All in all a brilliant team.

This ward deserves this nomination for always providing the highest standards of care to both children and their families. The team on the ward always works well to support both their own and wider teams across the department. The team works hard to advocate for patients, prioritising their individual needs. Woodcock ward strives to provide the highest level of care whilst working hard to improve the service for patients. Each member of the team always embodies the values of RCPCH.

It has been a particularly unusual year again with covid restrictions dipping in and out but the team on woodcock adapt to whatever is happening on the ward with resilience and positivity.
It has been another tough year for all in the NHS but when you walk onto woodcock ward you would not know this. You are greeted with smiley faces and a positive and warming atmosphere. ”
