Nick is an excellent clinician and a very supportive registrar to junior team members. When I started ST1 last year with zero previous paeds/neonates experiences he was really supportive. He would check in regularly during on calls to see how I was doing and was always approachable even for the simplest things. As I gained confidence over the year he supported me to manage patients more independently. He was also very good at completing SLEs during shifts together.

Nick has a really lovely manner with patients and families, he puts them at ease and explains things in a clear and understandable manner.

Nick also offers great leadership in situations with acutely unwell patients for example at deliveries.

Nick also looks after the wellbeing of junior team members, encouraging them to take breaks, offering support with portfolio and exams.

It’s been a pleasure to work with Nick.

Nick is great to have around. He is quick to laughter and this creates a lovely ease in all his interactions with patients, families and staff.
The most outstanding feature of Nick as a doctor is ability to teach and explain things. This is demonstrated in his ward rounds where you can often overhear him teaching junior doctors and physician associates, clearly explaining concepts. This also applies to discussing diagnoses ad treatments with children, young people and their families.
I enjoyed working with Nick as he has an appreciation for an MDT approach and integrated many team members into his practice.
He is a warm, approachable and incredibly knowledgeable doctor who is an excellent role model.

I have worked many shifts with Nick and find him to make good decisions and be an excellent team player. I have seen him communicate beautifully with parents and children. During emergencies in particular he is calm and communicates well with the team. He is a supportive senior offering advice and debrief opportunities.
