Lucy Stimpson

Nominated for Healthcare & Nursing Assistant of the Year Award

Works at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust

“Lucy is a well-liked Nursery Nurse and an outstanding member of the NICU and TCW team, she goes way beyond her job role to support her colleagues and families to ensure effective care for the infant.

I have nominated Lucy and Emma together as they are a ‘pair’. They are B4 specialist health care assistants (HCA) and work both on NICU and Transitional Care (TC) therefore have an extensive skill set and are very competent HCAs. Lucy and Emma take on extended roles and both are on the BFI working group and have been instrumental in UHP achieving stage 2 and are currently working tirelessly undertaking audits and teaching the team preparing for UHP to achieve stage 3. They get constant applause from the parents whose babies they care for and are often mentioned in the Friends and Family feedback. Lucy and Emma have spoken at the Neonatal Nurses Association (NNA) annual conference last year. They were able to showcase the work they do and highlight the value of ancillary staff on NICU and TCW – they are just FABULOUS!”
