Becca Pike

Nominated for Junior Nurse of the Year Award

Works at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust

“Becca has shown exceptional initiative throughout the COVID period, using downtime within the unit to create new initiatives, including having grab boxes for cannulations readily available. She has been a great leader and role model for her colleagues, she has been so proactive and it has been a delight to see. She is a fantastic team member and always a pleasure to work with, she embodies what it is to be a paediatric nurse, and at so early on in her career this shows great promise for her future.

Workoholic, there is no other way to describe this young lady. Becky is such an inspirational nurse, advocating for her patients and not being scared to stand up and be heard if something isn’t right. She is always busying herself around the unit, from cleaning and tidying to sorting and forward planning. Becky is willing to learn new skills but also more than willing to share her knowledge with other colleagues and medical team. She demonstrates great leadership qualities and will make a lovely well rounded sister in time. She works well as part of the multidisciplinary team and has the amazing ability to bridge the gap between the nursing and medical teams. It is a pleasure to work alongside such an inspirational nurse that can’t just sit down! its that infective that you find yourself busying around cleaning and tidying too!! keep up the good work and continue to inspire and empower the team around you. “
