Helen Little

Nominated for Nursing Lifetime Achievement

Works at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust

“I feel Helen has had a difficult role over the years of having to manage 2 units at the same time, they are both quite different in many ways and have different problems, she has had some support from her Junior Sisters in doing this, but the end decisions are made by Helen these can’t be easy it’s almost like she has had to wear 2 caps but she has done it Well. She is a truly clinical professional manager she will help out when she can, despite her mountain of office work she had to get through in certain time frames, she had been taken off her role through COVID put into an unknown role which she did very well but the ward and other departments where lost and left in limbo without her. She returned to several problems which she had to sort out, again keeping everything professional

She teaches people many things, she has a lot of empathy and is a huge support to staff especially when experiencing. Difficult times, she is honest and kind and understanding, her years of experience are much appreciated and valued.”
